ESCIN

ESCIN

Escin is a plant extract from the fruit of the horse chestnut or witch hazel.

It is this active ingredient which gives them their anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant medicinal properties.

By acting at different levels of inflammation, escin will help counter the production of the neurotransmitters responsible for it and therefore limit the response.

The active ingredient will then increase venous tension and activate microcirculation, to increase tissue drainage and reduce swelling.

FERULIC ACID

FERULIC ACID

Ferulic acid is a plant organic acid. Coming from cinnamic acid, it can be found in many fruits and cereals.

To counter these effects, it is possible to combine ferulic acid with vitamin C and vitamin E. Their compatibility allows them to create synergy and effectively fight against aging.

GLUTATHION

GLUTATHION

Gluthatione is a series of amino acids produced naturally by the human body. Its strong antioxidant action gives it very significant anti-aging power.

It helps limit premature skin aging by preventing damage caused by the various actors of oxidative stress: free radicals, ROS (Reactive Oxygen Derivatives), heavy metals and peroxides.

They are responsible for oxidation in cells, damaging DNA and accelerating the formation of wrinkles. With age, production slows down and cells become exposed to this damage.

GLYCERIN

GLYCERIN

In the body, glycerin plays an important role in the production of lipids, one of the three nutrients essential for the proper functioning of the body (along with carbohydrates and proteins).

Lipids will play a structural role, since they are an integral part of the cell membrane providing it with support, firmness and permeability. In addition, they also act at many biological levels such as the transmission of neuronal messages or the immune and anti-inflammatory response.

In addition to these metabolic functions with lipids, glycerin is a hydrophilic molecule, providing hydration to the epithelial layer, keeping it soft and smooth on a daily basis.

GLYCOLIC ACID

GLYCOLIC ACID

Glycolic acid is a fruit acid, derived from sugar cane, it is part of the AHA (alpha-hydroxy acid) category. These molecules are, with BHA (beta-hydroxy acid), the most used chemical exfoliants on the market.

Glycolic acid has a very powerful keratolytic action: that is to say, it interacts with keratinocytes in order to remove dead skin cells. Its small molecular size allows it to penetrate deep into the upper layers of the skin and activate cell renewal without abrasive action.

Thanks to its action, the appearance of the skin is generally improved: the complexion is enhanced, regains radiance while hyperpigmentation and acne are reduced.

HYALURONIC ACID

HYALURONIC ACID

Hyaluronic acid is a di-saccharide polymer.  Also known as glycosaminoglycan, it is a molecule naturally produced by the body in the extracellular matrix for the renewal of epithelial tissue. With age, its production slows down, so the skin loses elasticity and hydration.

This molecule can contain 1,000 times its weight in water, providing immediate action with a “plumped” effect. Its hygroscopic properties enable it to combat insensible water loss (TEWL) and ensure intense, long-lasting hydration for the skin.

There are different types of hyaluronic acid, separated by the size of their molecules: a high molecular weight will enable moisture to be retained on the surface of the tissues and swell the skin, while a lower molecular weight will penetrate much deeper and accelerate cell regeneration.

KERATOLIN

BACILLUS FERMENT

Keratolin is a protease resulting from the fermentation of the bacteria Bacillus Subtilis, a microorganism playing a role in the functioning of the immune system and the synthesis of lipids.

This active ingredient is an enzymatic exfoliant which constitutes an alternative to fruit acids or AHA (alpha-hydroxy acid) since it has a keratolytic action. This will stimulate the removal of dead cells to eliminate the dull veil on the surface of the skin and reduce imperfections. At the same time, this gentle exfoliation sends a signal to the epidermis to renew itself more quickly.

LACTIC ACID

LACTIC ACID

Lactic acid is a fruit acid, extracted from milk and certain fruits and vegetables, it is part of the AHA (alpha-hydroxy acid) category. These molecules are, with BHA (beta-hydroxy acid), the most used chemical exfoliants on the market.

Lactic acid has a very significant keratolytic action: that is to say, it interacts with keratinocytes in order to remove dead skin cells. Combined with its hygroscopic action, the appearance of the skin is generally improved: it is more hydrated, the complexion is enhanced, regains radiance while hyperpigmentation and acne are reduced.

MANDELIC ACID

MANDELIC ACID

Mandelic acid is a fruit acid, extracted from bitter almonds, it is part of the AHA (alpha-hydroxy acid) category. These molecules are, with BHA (beta-hydroxy acid), the chemical exfoliants, and therefore non-abrasive, the most used on the market.

Mandelic acid has a very well tolerated keratolytic action: that is to say, it interacts with keratinocytes in order to remove dead cells from the skin but without attacking it thanks to its high molecular weight.

It allows it to improve the appearance of the skin, it is more hydrated, the complexion is enhanced and regains radiance while hyperpigmentation and acne are reduced, even for sensitive skin and areas.

OPUNTIA FICUS INDICA STEM EXTRACT

Mexican cactus extract or Nopal, is also called prickly pear. Accustomed to growing in very arid environments, this active ingredient is a specialist in water retention. It stores a large quantity of mucilage in its leaves to maintain an optimal level of hydration despite extreme conditions.

Applied to the skin, Nopal gives an immediate effect of freshness and hydration to epithelial cells.

Rich in piscidic acid, a very powerful chelating agent, it captures Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions before they form free radicals and oxidize the tissues.

NEUROPEPTIDE

NEUROPEPTIDE

PALMITOYL TRIPEPTIDE-8

Neuropeptides are molecules made up of a peptide associated with palmitic acid.

These two molecules act in synergy to reproduce by biomimicry the action of the human body on inflammation. Neuropeptides will act on several aspects of this: by playing a vasoconstrictor role, they improve microcirculation, reduce redness, swelling and discomfort.

In addition, they also act on pro-inflammatory cytokines, thus modulating inflammation at its source.

NIACINAMIDE

NIACINAMIDE

Niacinamide is the common name associated with the active form of vitamin B3. Made up of two molecules: niacin (nicotinic acid) and its amide nicotinamide, it is essential in the process of supplying energy to the heart of cells by synthesizing the co-enzymes NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) and NADP (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate).

In the skin, niacinamide plays several roles, as an anti-aging active ingredient, it helps stimulate the production of collagen and filaggrin while inhibiting the transfer of melanosomes to keratinocytes, reducing hyperpigmentation.

It also acts on inflammation markers, reducing redness and imperfections and reducing sebum production.

For the scalp, niacinamide prevents cellular senescence induced by oxidative stress and premature entry into the catagen phase of hair follicles by influencing the gene expression of DKK-1, reducing hair loss.

PHYTOL

Physcomitrella Patens is a thousand-year-old moss, one of the oldest plants on Earth.

It has an extreme capacity to resist changes in climatic and environmental conditions over time.

At the origin of these adaptations, the antioxidant molecules which compose it. Applied to the skin, they limit premature skin aging by preventing damage caused by the various actors of oxidative stress: free radicals, ROS (Reactive Oxygen Derivatives), heavy metals and peroxides. They are responsible for oxidation in cells, damaging DNA and accelerating the formation of wrinkles.

Acting at the cell nucleus, the foam improves its communication with its external environment. It restores โ€œyoungโ€ functioning to cells and allows them to become more resilient: they are more resistant to external attacks such as pollution or climatic variations.

SALICORNIA EXTRACT

SALICORNIA EXTRACT

SALICORNIA HERBACEA EXTRACT

Salicornia extract is an active ingredient derived directly from the plant of the same name. The latter is halophilic and grows in soils particularly rich in salts and minerals, such as coastlines.

This particular environment allowed it to develop very interesting internal systems in the fight against dehydration.

The salicornia extract will thus act on all fronts of skin dehydration: it stimulates the synthesis of aquaporins (AQP3 and AQP8) which will subsequently encourage the production of urea. Urea being a major component of Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF), it will help increase their presence in the skin.

This is how better cellular cohesion and strengthening of the lipid matrix are obtained.

SWEET ALMOND OIL

PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS (SWEET ALMOND) OIL

Sweet almond oil is an oily complex made up of different fatty acids (FA) and active ingredients.

Between the polyunsaturated and the saturated AGs, we find a monounsaturated AG called oleic acid.

It is the most abundant in the human body: it is the main constituent of adipose tissues and plasma. It is also found on a large part of the dermis since it is part of the composition of sebum: a substance naturally secreted by the body to compensate for dryness of the skin and hair. It will play an emollient role, replenishing the skin’s lipids.

Thanks to sweet almond oil, the skin barrier is stronger, the stratum corneum is supported, firmer and more permeable to active ingredients.

โ€‹In the composition of sweet almond oil, we also find vitamin E, a powerful anti-oxidant. The presence of this vitamin helps limit premature skin aging by preventing damage caused to cells faced with oxidative stress (free radicals, ROS (Reactive Oxygen Derivatives), heavy metals as well as peroxides) which damages the DNA.

Thus the skin is protected and sweet almond oil helps prevent and fight against the appearance and/or accentuation of wrinkles.

TRANEXAMIC ACID

TRANEXAMIC ACID

Tranexamic acid is a molecule analogous to lysine synthesis. The latter is one of the 9 amino acids essential to the proper functioning of the human body which are not synthesized naturally but must be supplemented.

When applied to the skin, this acid plays a role in reducing the level of ฮฑ-melanocytic hormones, inflammatory mediators between melanocytes and keratinocytes. As interactions are reduced, melanogenesis is blocked.

This action is useful on all signs of hyperpigmentation (actinic lentigo, dark circles, pregnancy mask and melasma, etc.) but also on post-inflammatory marks such as scars and traces of acne.

UREA

UREA

Urea is a molecule naturally present in the epidermis. It is a major component of Natural Hydration Factors (NMF). It will help increase the water content in the skin, capturing ambient humidity to deeply hydrate.

It also helps reduce transient water loss (TEWL) and maintain intense and lasting hydration to the skin. With a supply of urea, the skin is smoothed, comfortable and soothed.
