Pekaline® is a patented depigmenting active ingredient that reduces the level of melanin within your cells.

In order to act on the overall process of melanogenesis, we have selected a patented active ingredient, Pekaline®, which acts on two levels:

1. A protein kinase A (PKA) inhibitor, it blocks transcription of the tyrosinase gene and therefore melanin synthesis.
2. It modifies the intra melanosomal pH which plays a crucial role in the control of melanogenesis. The pH inside the melanosomes becomes acidic (pH < 7) which inhibits melanogenesis.

It causes a blockage of melanin synthesis inside cells by inhibition of protein kinase (PKA) and pigment maturation (acidic pH).
